Ancient Bit-Adini (Beth Eden)

Ancient Aramaean Kingdom in Mesopotamia located on both sides of the Middle Euphrates River south of Carchemish. The area identified as Ashtata in the Amarna Period is the same as that identified as Bit-Adini. Probably founded in the 10th century BC it was conquered by the Assyrians under Shalmaneser III in 856 BC. Its capital Barsib was made an Assyrian provincial capital .....
