Hajji Muhammed Period

An early 5th millennium BC site near Uruk in southern Mesopotamia which has given its name to a type of painted pottery and an early phase of the Ubaid Culture. The pottery is painted in dark brown or purplish black in a geometric style. Hajji Muhammed pottery is found also at Eridu in layers stratified between the earliest Eridu pottery and the fully developed Ubaid Period.
